Liquids, Conflicts and Influences, 2022

The exhibition Liquids, Conflicts and Influences, shown at The Academy of Fine Arts in Stockholm consists of a number of newly produced and site-specific works by Peter Hagdahl. Central to the exhibition is the question of how different forces affect society, the outside world and our lives. The exhibition is a visual investigation of the fields of tension in which we all find ourselves, bringing together painting, drawing, interactive sculpture and moving image into a spatial whole.

Sustained, 1992
Freezer, Generator, photocopier, sulfur, color photos, plastic can, etc

The exhibition/installation Sustained explores themes of influence, interconnected systems, and dependencies. At its center is a freezer containing an ice sculpture shaped like a propeller. To prevent the ice sculpture from melting, a small gasoline-powered generator is connected to the freezer. Surrounding the central sculpture, the walls are covered with a dense and intricate collage of news clippings, notes, diagrams, photographs, photocopies, materials, and paintings. The interplay of these viewpoints creates a reflective and associative narrative that incorporates, actual circumstances, contradictions, fictions and private comments
